Prepare the surface well, clean it, dry it and then use the preparation wipe (That STINKS) and then the adhesive strip works very well. The strip stops the water and looks good. Also used silicon sealant - to finish the look as much as anything.

A feature of wet room floors is of course that the whole floor can end up very wet; we wanted to contain the water better, without losing the step-free nature of the shower and keeping the pared-back aesthetic. This barrier is well designed for the purpose, and is easy to work with on a DIY basis. The instructions make it clear that you need to buy and use some additional sealant on the side facing the water source, to achieve a watertight seal on the floor. The barrier has a self-adhesive backing which does work to hold it in place but it didn't feel that strong when we put it in place - suggesting that the additional sealant is important for the longer term effectiveness of the barrier. As you get 2m of barrier for a reasonable price, it seems reasonable that the sealant isn't supplied. The barrier is slightly flexible, it is possible to curve it or to cut it (I used a craft knife for this) to create corners or other angles. Once in place it needs to be left to cure for 24 hours and I decided to weight it down gently during that time - to ensure that it didn't pop out of place and dry when not in contact with the floor. The barrier looks good (we have dark, matt tiles on the floor so the black matt finish blends in). It is possible to step on it without hurting your foot or damaging the strip; we don't need this, but I think you would be able to run a wheelchair over it - an important consideration if the wet room is for use by a wheelchair user. The barrier is high enough to hold back the small amount of water that splashes from the shower in normal use. All in all, this is a good product that does what it claims to do and looks good enough not to detract from the overall style of the bathroom.

The Drenky Wet Room Floor Barrier arrived coiled up in a plastic bag. It was made of an opaque rather than solid white material. I got it to go along the edge of my bath to stop water going over the edge, which it has been successful at doing so far. One thing to note was that both ends were rough cut and had to be recut to tidy them up, but fortunately I didn’t need the full length.

This soft silicone barrier is a very useful item to have around. It is good for stopping water from spilling over into areas you don't want it to go. It is well made, and comes as shown in the first photo, rolled loosely around itself in a plastic bag. It has a ridge on the top, but this is soft, and wouldn't hurt bare feet if you happened to step on it, although it is quite a ridge. It has a 3M strip of self sticking tape on the part you stick to a surface. The instructions say to clean the area you intend to stick this down to with a cleaner, but don't use anything with oil in, as it won't stick. Make sure you rinse the area well and make sure it's completely dry before sticking it down. The 3M sticky strip is only really to hold it in place. The instructions say for a permanent bond, you will need to use silicone sealant as well. However, I didn't have any sealant to hand, so I just used the sticky strip. It's not come off yet, even though I have had several showers since it was installed. It has held down well on the non slip flooring in my wet room. I have a few small storage drawers there, and it keeps the water from puddling underneath them very well, on the odd occasions I forget to clear out the hair trap! :)
